Dr Dominic Doyle

Clinical Psychologist

“When we express ourselves to another, we give ourselves an opportunity to say something that we would not have thought, had we just been thinking. Talking matters. As does realising that we are worth listening to.”

My Approach

I am an experienced clinical psychologist and psychotherapist, focused on the assessment and treatment of mental and emotional difficulty in older adolescents (16+) and adults.

Since completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, I have worked for over ten years across both the public and private mental health sectors. My experience with adults and teens spans areas including anxiety, sadness, depression, anger, obsessive thinking, loneliness, disconnection, grief, feelings of insecurity and inadequacy, and relationship problems.

My work in assessments includes as an approved provider of psychology IMEs for workers’ compensation via Worksafe Victoria. I additionally undertake workplace psychological fitness-for-work/fitness for duty assessments, SRC Act s36 rehabilitation assessments, and ACT workers’ compensation second assessments. I have prior experience in the provision of reports to the Magistrate and County courts of Victoria in criminal matters, outlining the relevant mental health, risk assessment and treatment factors related to the offending behaviour; my doctoral thesis was in the area of criminal risk assessment.

My qualifications include a Doctorate of Psychology (Clinical) from Monash University, through which I was awarded the Best Doctoral Thesis Award, the Maconochie Prize from the APS College of Forensic Psychologists, was Runner Up for the Allen Austin Bartholomew Award, and received a Postgraduate Award (Research Scholarship). I additionally hold a Bachelor of Arts (Hons, Psychology) from the University of Melbourne. I am a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), and the Victoria Association of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapists.

In addition to collaborating with Framework Psychology, I operate my own private practice, Dominic Doyle Psychology, in Mont Albert (VIC).
