Mr Andy Brennan

Psychologist

I aim to create a space that is supportive and collaborative, helping clients to better understand their patterns, respond more effectively to challenges, and to move toward what matters to them.”

My Approach

I’m Andy Brennan, a registered psychologist based in Melbourne. I work with adolescents and adults from a wide range of backgrounds, including students, athletes, professionals, and those navigating everyday life challenges, to help them function effectively under pressure while maintaining their wellbeing over time.

My approach is grounded in evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), alongside principles from sport and performance psychology.

I commonly support clients experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress and burnout, motivation difficulties, emotional regulation challenges, interpersonal concerns, and periods of life transition or uncertainty. I have a particular interest in working with individuals in high-demand or high-expectation environments, where identity, performance, and self-worth can become closely intertwined.

In our work together, I aim to create a space that is both supportive and purposeful. Sessions are collaborative, practical, and focused on building skills that translate into everyday life. My goal is to help clients better understand their patterns, respond more effectively to challenges, and move toward what matters to them in a sustainable way.

My qualifications include a Graduate Diploma of Professional Practice from Monash University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Deakin University. I am undertaking further education, currently completing a Doctor of Psychology through the Institute for Social Neuroscience (ISN) in both Clinical Psychology and Sports and Exercise Psychology. Alongside my work in private practice, I am team psychologist for Melbourne City FC, and have held previous positions in schools, and community/primary care contexts. I am a current member of the Australian Psychological Society.
